This is a 12-month project where youll play a pivotal role in maintaining and evolving critical applications within the Data Management domain. Your expertise will directly shape the digital backbone of energy operations, ensuring reliability, innovation, and future-readiness. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be at the heart of this transformationsolving complex challenges, driving operational excellence, and enabling the digital evolution of the energy sector. Your work will ensure seamless operations, rapid response to new business needs, and the continuous improvement of mission-critical systems. What Youll Be Doing Lead the maintenance, enhancement, and development of Java applications within the Data Management domain (including C2C, Conto, BM, and others). Act as analyst, designer, and developer for both maintenance and project assignments, converting functional analyses into robust, production-ready code. Take ownership of assigned projects, proactively communicating progress, risks, and solutions to stakeholders and team members. Collaborate closely with designers and analysts, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Deliver bug fixes, user support, and technical guidance to internal clients. Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment. Participate in go-live activities, including occasional work outside standard office hours and on weekends as needed. Contribute to Agile ceremonies and help shape user stories and functional analyses. Support knowledge transfer within the team, ensuring new insights are leveraged for future assignments. Demonstrate flexibility in working on-site and remotely, with occasional travel to other client locations as required. Technical Skills Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in Java EE development and building Java-based applications. Expertise with JBOSS middleware stack (EAP, Fuse) and administration on Red Hat Linux environments. Strong experience with GIT or other source control systems. Proficiency with Maven for build and dependency management. Solid frontend skills: HTML, JavaScript, JQuery. Experience with Hibernate, Spring MVC, JSP (at least one required). Ability to convert functional analyses into technical solutions and code. Relational database knowledge (Oracle, SQL, etc.). Unit testing expertise. Agile development methodology experience. Knowledge of Market Operation processes (MIG6) is essential. Experience in the Belgian energy sector is highly valued. Language Proficiency Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is required.
