Job Summary The Software Developer / OpenText AppWorks Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting software components in alignment with evolving functional requirements, commercial best practices, and DoD accreditation/security standards. This role supports CMTARS and related systems by implementing new modules, resolving interface issues, conducting regression testing, and collaborating closely with AFRBA, onsite support personnel, and project teams. The contractor will perform development work from their location while coordinating with onsite representatives for requirement prioritization. Proposed software changes will be reviewed monthly by the AFRBA Configuration Control Board. This position requires deep expertise in OpenText AppWorks, custom component development, JavaScript/Marionette coding, and integrated platforms such as Box.com and Salesforce. Responsibilities Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software components or modules as new requirements emerge. Modify or extend components in alignment with: AFRBA-delivered requirements SDLC best practices DoD accreditation and security standards Develop and maintain Custom Component Software and Custom Component Documentation. Address issues related to: System interfaces Integration with other platforms Compatibility across environments Recommend application changes and interface improvements where appropriate. Collaborate with project teams and end users to ensure functionality meets requirements. Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues across OpenText AppWorks and integrated systems. Perform full regression testing on enhancements or defect corrections. Provide: Test Results Test Incident/Discrepancy Reports within five business days following a test event. Present a list of changes and test scripts to the CMTARS Program Manager or designee for approval prior to any system release. Work in conjunction with onsite end user support representatives and AFRBA prioritization. Support monthly reviews for all proposed software changes. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for: OpenText products Server architectures System operations Experience Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience implementing OpenText AppWorks solutions. Minimum 5 years of coding experience using: Marionette JavaScript Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience integrating Box.com and Salesforce software solutions. Certifications Security+ (DoD 8570.01-M compliant) OpenText Certification for AppWorks 24.0, or earlier versions back to 16.2 Verifiable training, working knowledge, and/or certification with: Box.com Salesforce 24.0 or previous iterations Required Skills Strong understanding of: AppWorks workflows, components, and back-end architecture Software development life-cycle (SDLC) processes DoD security and accreditation requirements Hands-on experience with custom component development and documentation. Ability to conduct regression testing and produce test reports, discrepancy logs, and test scripts. Experience troubleshooting system integration, compatibility, and platform issues. Desired Skills Experience supporting DoD or federal information systems. Knowledge of enterprise content management, records workflows, and integration best practices. Familiarity with CMTARS or similar enterprise financial/records applications. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret functional requirements into technical solutions. Excellent communication skills, especially in coordinating with end users, project teams, and government stakeholders.
