Frontend Software Engineer
We are looking for a Software Engineer to support the frontend development of mission-critical Air Traffic Control systems. You will work in a collaborative team environment, solving complex technical problems while ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of safety, usability and reliability. As an ideal candidate You have professional experience in frontend software development and a strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle. You approach complex problems with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and are comfortable working in safety-critical environments where quality and reliability are paramount. You are self-motivated and collaborative, you value knowledge sharing, and you actively contribute to continuous improvement both in code and in development processes. You are able to translate technical concepts into clear outcomes and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, high-quality systems. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain safety-critical software solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver features Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code Review code and contribute to shared engineering standards and best practices Test, debug, and improve software throughout the development lifecycle Support deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of production systems Assist with writing operational and technical documentation Professional Requirements University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams English language proficiency, both written and verbal Preferred Qualifications At least 3 years of professional experience in software development is preferred Experience with modern C++ and Qt/QML is preferred A background in the ATM/ATC domain is a plus Solid problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently A user-centric approach combined with the ability and willingness to learn Who we are Tern Systems is an established and trusted provider of Air Traffic Management solutions, and operates in a competitive, regulated industry.
