Overview:

We are looking for experienced Software Engineer II to join our global Product Development team. The Software Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting software solutions for PrimeRevenues suite of financial applications. This role will help us to scale our engineering effort and continuously improve quality, performance and reliability of our platform. The engineer should have extensive experience with Java, Spring, Microsoft SQL Server, Docker, and Gradle technologies and be proficient in developing and supporting critical business applications. They will be expected to evangelize testing and provide feedback to their leadership on ways to improve the design and quality of coding as well as leverage MBO goals to research new technologies and tactics. They are expected to contribute to continuous improvement efforts and provide best practices.

Responsibilities:

Develop 70%

  • Work within our Agile process to build software with Java and SQL Server
  • Deeply understand our application's functional and non-functional requirements to fix defects and build required features
  • Construct code to technical specifications including unit and integration testing
  • Support QA, Infrastructure, and Data teams to deliver release builds
  • Participate in, reinforce, and refine our agile development practices

Support 30%

  • Participate in on-call support rotation or assignments to support escalations and resolve client requests
  • Participate in the deployment of our products and provide support if issues arise
  • Mentor developers and provide support & guidance for entire scrum TEAM
  • Participate in our engineer recruiting and hiring process

Qualifications:

MUST HAVE
  • 2 - 3 years of extensive experience developing critical business applications in Java and SQL Server
  • Proficient in both Core Java development and coding using application frameworks (Spring MVC, SpringBoot) to deliver service oriented solutions
  • SQL & relational database experience including: T-SQL and stored procedures on MS SQL Server
  • Experience developing REST APIs
  • Experience with Maven or Gradle
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, JSON
  • Comfortable with Git and can define and manage branching strategies
  • Experienced collaborating with a team with code reviews and providing feedback and guidance to colleagues
  • Proficient with jUnit and capable of planning testing strategies and implementation of tests
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful services and 3rd party APIs
  • Able to quickly identify areas of improvement within the code base, and communicate issues effectively
  • Able to work independently an understand when escalation is required

  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js or React
